This wall was built in the time of the Roman Emperor Hadrian almost 2000 years ago. It spans across the entire north of England.

Beautiful Landscape
We saw some beautiful landscape of northern England while driving to Hadrian's Wall. It was a beautiful day and such a beautiful country
Tea Time
Well we stopped in the tea shop for well actually not tea but coffee as we have Joel & Roxanne officially hooked on coffee!
Vindolanda cont'
There was alot to see of some of the artifacts they have discovered and continue to discover. They even had a letter from a Roman woman inviting someone to an event. It was pretty amazing to see some of this stuff.
Roman Vindolanda
Roman Vindolanda is part of Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site and was a Roman Frontier Military & Civilian Settlement. Looking at these ruins it was pretty crazy to think they were about 2000 years old and would have been roman homes, bath houses etc. So amazing!
The Sheep
Ok so as we were driving we saw this amazing cottage and a field of sheep. Well as we stopped to get a picture the sheep they started coming towards us all together and then as we were driving they were chasing us along the fence. Very friendly sheep......
Along the Road
Well Joel & Roxanne were taking us this particular day to see a few things in the area and while driving we saw some of this beautiful Architecture. And as we all know Casey really likes Castles and stuff he jumped we pulled over to get some pictures. This one building was closed this particular day but Casey had a guy who was working the grounds show him around and take some pictures. He just smiled and said, I'm all the way from Canada....and well here's some of the pictures he got.
Beamish town cont.
We took the trolly back to our cars as our time at beamish was done and it was off to dinner at Grandma's.....mmmmm and what a dinner it was. The best homemade English dinner! And amazing company.
This was my favorite place....yep the candy shop and oh did we get some good old fashion english sweets!
Here is Casey making a withdrawl at the bank...we even got to see the vaults downstairs
Here we have the Bank & a Freemason Hall (creepy)
Beamish town
We went into the little town they had set up in Beamish. So cool! Joel & Roxanne are in the picture where we enter the town and we got to go in some old homes & a dentist.....lets say I can see why people would have feared the dentist back then. Its sounded like most people who lived in these areas where well off. It was really cool as in each place there were people dressed up that would tell you about who would have lived or worked there and the history with it. We went to a few different places including one where the gentleman allowed us to take pictures in an area that was blocked off.

Beamish - Westoe Netty
Beamish continued
Here we are touring a school was closed to the public due to the season but when you peeked in the window there actually was a class that had done a field trip and was taking class there. Also an old mill and then small little homes which had a garden fenced in the front & an outhouse in the back of each. Thats the door Roxanne's knocking on. These were all closed up also but you could peek int through the windows and see them set up with old furniture etc.
